MISSION SUSTAINABILITY
“The community of believers were of one heart and one mind, none of them ever claimed as his own; rather, everything was held in common.” (Acts 4:32)“Our life of stewardship flows from the very heart of our vocation and purpose as Oblates of Notre Dame (AC-2001). As stewards of God we are urged to cultivate a deep awareness of God’s hospitality and living as responsible, faithful stewards of all creation. The mission of stewardship affects our relationships, influences, and our approach to issues as peace, ecological justice, simplicity of lifestyle, poverty, and the common good.”
The Oblates of Notre Dame is called and being sent out to participate in God’s mission to transform, to redeem and to reconcile us to God’s Kagandahang-loob that we may live as stewards of God’s abundant gifts.
Mission sustainability is about responsible stewardship of the household of God. The Church exists to manage this household of God: to gather and listen to God’s Word and to go out living and sharing the joy of the gospel in Jesus Christ.
Stewardship is a grateful response of a missionary disciple who recognizes and receives God’s gifts and shares these gifts in love of God and neighbor. Stewardship demands a way of life. It is a management of our God-given resources of time, talent, and treasures.
